KENNY FLOW TIGHT               ¢-NOTE             VERSE A TYLE

Rap vocalists (emcees) Michael, Stephen and Cheddi grew up together in South London, Ontario… with ties from their Caribbean roots. As youngsters, they had a natural knack for rhyming, fell in love with hip hop and began performing. Fast-forward to the University of Kentucky where cousins Michael and Cheddi received their B.A.s in Journalism, and Stephen, a B.A. in Dramatic Arts at the U. of Windsor. Back in London, after university, the three friends got together again and rekindled their love of rap.Triad was born and the three became a tight group with a musical core of radical sounds.

Triad really came to the forefront due to the efforts of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC) in promoting Canadian talent. CBC teamed up with General Motors to present the Great Canadian Music Dream. Music Dream was a nationwide contest that was simulcast on both TV and Radio. Over 4000 entries were received from all over Canada. The Ontario region had 1400 submissions by its self. Triad was one of 5 selected in Ontario to compete at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre's John Bassett Theatre infront of a live studio audience of 2000 plus people. cbc.ca/musicdream.ontario.htm

Prior to the Great Canadian music dream Triad was a part of another CBC contest called Big Break. Big Break was broadcast on national radio and featured the best unsigned bands across the land receiving close to 2000 entries. Within the Ontario group alone there were over 750 entries. Triad was one of the 3 groups selected for the Ontario finals. The showdown took place at Club Babylon, Ottawa, ON 02/16/02. www.cbc.ca/bigbreak

Triad won the 2002 London Music Award, in the best R&B/Rap catergory. http://chrw.usc.uwo.ca

Triad was given Honorable Mention status in the prestigious 2002 John Lennon Song Writing Contest, for the song Rhymenesia ft Lady El. Rhymenesia is a song that talks about what it would be like to have lyrical amnesia. Each member of the group gives their own account in their verse.
